Diver airlifted after bends fear
The man had been diving in Strangford LoughA diver has been airlifted from Strangford Lough in County Down to a decompression chamber because of fears he could develop the bends.
It is understood people on the dive boat became concerned after he resurfaced too quickly and needed oxygen.
A helicopter took him to the facility near Largs in Scotland. Steve Palmer from the Belfast Coastguard said it was a worthwhile precaution. “The bends can be fatal if not caught in time. This time the diver was not showing any signs of the illness, but as a precaution he was taken to the chamber,” he said -

Is vliegen wel het slimste met een DCS patient?

Wel als het gaat om snelheid. En volgens mij hebben ze toestemming om met z’n patient lager te vliegen dan de normale kruishoogte.

Als het goed is vliegen die helicopters niet hoger dan 300m..
